Taking a break from workouts? Find out if a week off leads to muscle loss.
After a week off:
✅ Muscle strength remains. ✅ Glycogen stores decrease slightly. ✅ Recovery improves.
Muscle loss (atrophy) starts after 2-3 weeks of inactivity, not one!
No! Muscle and fat are different tissues. Lack of exercise may lead to fat gain, but muscle doesn’t turn into fat.
❌ Prolonged inactivity (weeks/months). ❌ Poor diet (low protein). ❌ Lack of movement (bed rest).
1. Stay active (walk, stretch). 2. Eat enough protein. 3. Get proper sleep.
Resting for a week can help:
✅ Muscle recovery. ✅ Injury prevention. ✅ Improved performance.
If you've stopped for more than 3 weeks, you may start losing muscle. Restart with light workouts!
